Genie has produced a various range of garage door opener remote. All Genie remotes are simple and easy to be programmed and installed. Genie GITR-3 is one of the Genie Intellicode remote transmitters. The instruction for Genie remote is included when you buy a new garage door opener remote or buy the Genie garage door opener. Programming Genie remote garage door opener does not need any special tools, a remote and a ladder to reach the motor unit is adequate.
Programming Genie remote garage door opener The Genie GITR-3 instruction or any other remote programming instructions is started by locating the Learn Code Button and Radio Signal Indicator LED on the power head using a ladder or any tools to reach power head. Each transmitter has to be learned to the opener receiver using below steps:
- Press and release the Learn Code Button. The Radio Signal Indicator LED is blinking for twice per second. Do not press and hold the learn code button unless you want all the memory inside the receiver erased.
- Go immediately get the remote transmitter of Genie GITR-3 before the Radio Signal Indicator LED is off or before 30 seconds. Press and release a transmitter button you want to choose to be learned to the opener within 30 seconds. The Radio Signal Indicator LED stops blinking and stay on.
- Press again the same transmitter button within 30 seconds. The Radio Signal Indicator LED is off and the programming Genie remote garage door opener is finished.
- To test whether the process of the programming is completed or not, press the chosen transmitter button. The door should move. Pressing the transmitter again will cause the door stopped. Press again the transmitter button, the door will move in the opposite direction from the previous motion and it will stop automatically at the end of the open or close cycle.
