Genie provides a wide range of safety features. The standard safety feature by Genie is the Safe-T-Beam system. You need to install Genie garage door opener Safe-T-Beam, otherwise the operator cannot do its task to close the door automatically. Before installing the Safe-T-Beam you need to unplug any electrical connection to the operator, if during the installation any power cord is plugged in please unplug it immediately. How to install a garage door opener Safe-T-Beam starts with mounting the brackets. Measure 5” above the floor on both sides of wall or both sides of door frame and make a mark out of it. Please check is the door bracket lengthen out from the wall or door frame by holding the bracket in opposition to a door frame or wall. The bracket should have extended so the tongue of the bracket is beyond the door or any door hardware. Make the bracket precisely in the center of the 5” mark. Tighten each of bracket with 2 screws on both sides of wall or door frame.

For one garage door, please select which side of the garage that will get the most direct sunlight and put RED LED on the side that has more sunlight part. If you have a multiple doors, make sure there is no crossed signals and place the source and sensor modules at closest doors that directly facing the opposite directions. Put the source/sensor onto the bracket tongue by sliding it into its place. After that, you need to route the STB wire by following the instruction on the manual. Fasten the STB wires using the insulated staples. Next step if making a wire attachment at Safe-T-Beams by splitting and stripping both ends of wire. Try to loosen the terminal retaining screws. Insert the any wire to terminals under the flat plate and tighten back the screw. Attach the wire at power head by connecting STB wires to terminal number 2 and 3 on the power head.
