Genie Pro Max Troubleshooting

A garage door will always be a helpful device as long as the opener works properly. Genie Pro Max for example, is an opener that controlled by a remote or a wall-mounted control panel to close and open. The opener somehow does not work properly due to mechanical or electrical system issues or both of them. You should try to troubleshoot the opener since some of the issues are easy to fix, besides calling a professional might cost you a fortune.

As the first step to troubleshoot the Genie Pro Max, you can check the wall console. Make sure the lock switch is not set to lock. Do not skip the basic as most of malfunction opener is due to no power connected to the outlet. Check whether there is power or not by plugging in other device into power outlet and if there is no power, check the circuit breaker and reset it. Check also the wires route at the wall control and power head terminal. Wires should be firmly held by wire screw connectors, make any adjustments needed using screwdriver.

If your door do not fully closing, the possibility it due to the travel limit setting. Adjust the travel limit setting by turning screw marked close. If the door do not fully open, do it the opposite way, turn it to marked open force.

The door opener is not the only core problem why the garage door does not move, check if the remote control functions well too. First, you can check the position of the remote; relocate the remote inside your vehicle to get the right signal. Second, you can try to change the batteries of the remote with the new one. Resetting the remote control is a worth trying solution to troubleshoot your Genie Pro Max, refer to the owner manual to do the resetting procedure.
