Genie is one of the largest garage door opener manufacturers that dominate the business in the market. There are several ways to control the Genie garage door opener, the first one is through remote control, second is through wall button and the third is through a keypad that mounted outside the garage door. The genie keypad will need apasscode when you want to access the garage door. When you have a problem with your Genie garage door keypad, all you need to do is reset the keypad to factory settings and re-code it back.
The resetting process of the Genie garage door keypad is just like any other programming entry devices project which is simple and pretty fast. The first step of resetting the keypad you need to open the cover keypad halfway, just wide enough to access the 8 key button and PROG button. One hand press and hold the 8 and PROG button simultaneously, while the other hands lift the keypad cover to completely open position. You may close the keypad cover back to the position when you see the indicator light is flashing and then goes off.
After that, you can open the Genie garage door keypad cover to completely open position. The indicator light once again blinks and goes off, it indicates that the keypad is now ready to be re-code. You can proceed the process to press the 3-5-7 key button in order, followed by pressing the PROG button in such a quick way. You will see the indicator light is blinking once per second, it indicates that you do the sequence successfully. Enter the PIN or pass code you have been determined between 3 up to 8 digits of the number and followed by pressing the PROG button as you need to confirm the PIN or pass code you have been entered. Close the keypad cover and the process is finished.
