Safe-T-Beam system is a Genie standard safety features found in most of Genie’s product. Safe-T-Beam will shoot beam across the door and if the beam hits any unwanted things, the system begins to work automatically. Install Safe-T-Beam on how to install a Genie garage door opener Excelerator as follows.
Before you perform how to install a Genie garage door opener you need to make sure that power does not connected to the opener and unplug the opener from the electrical outlet.
First, install Safe-T-Beam Source and Sensor by making a mark on both sides of garage door wall or frame 6 feet above floor and hold Bracket against garage door wall or frame. Place the top of Mounting Bracket on the mark at 6 feet and you can fasten it using 2 (#10-16 x 1-11/4”) Philips Hex Head Screws each Bracket.
Next, on how to install a Genie garage door opener you need to attach Safe-T-Beam Source, the Red LED, and Sensor, The Green LED, to Brackets. Make sure to place source or Red LED on the side where direct sunlight is reflecting on garage side and the opposite place sensor or Green LED on a place away from the door opening as it will prevent any interference from sun or place it where the direct sun is interfered by shadows. To begin the installation slide the Safe-T-Beam onto tongue of Brackets until it latches and you hear a click sound. After that, you need to examine the final height of Lens.
Safe-T-Beam wiring is installed after the two installations finished. First, try to make a direction of the Wire and Insulated Staples. After that, attach Wires to Safe-T-Beam Sensors and when it is finished, attach Wires at Power Head. Makes sure that there is no door’s part or door’s hardware is in the way between the Source or Sensor Lenses.
