There are three steps of programming Genie garage door openers wireless keypad. First is resetting the wireless keypad, second is entering the pin of wireless keypad and the last programming door operator. The complete steps should be performed as you want to make sure the wireless keypad will work well with the system. However, some condition such as changing pin and resetting keypad completely requires only one or two steps of the three steps of programming below.
The first step of programming Genie garage door openers wireless keypad starts from resetting the wireless keypad. Open the cover keypad halfway open. Directly press and hold PROG and 8 buttons simultaneously while opening the rest of the keypad cover completely open. You will see an indicator light blinking and then goes off.
Continue to the next step of programming Genie garage door openers second step, entering the PIN. First, open keypad cover fully open, the indicator light is blinking once and goes out directly. Press the 3-5-7 buttons in order, and then press PROG. The indicator light is blinking one time per second. You can enter the secret PIN, which is the combination of eight digits of numbers, and press PROG. The indicator light is linking twice per second as a respond. Put back the cover keypad completely close and wireless keypad is ready to give signal to your door operator.
The last step is programming door operator to make the door operator accept the signal from wireless keypad. Locate the learn code button and radio signal indicator, both of them are located on the power head. As you find the two buttons, open your wireless keypad fully open. Press the operator learn code button, keypad indicator is blinking. Enter your secret PIN and Press Send. The indicator light stays lit. Press the Send button once again and indicator light goes off. To test the system, press the send button again and the motor runs to open the door. Pressing the send button again will cause the motor stops running.
