A garage door is controlled by a controller in a form of keypad or remote control.  When you have a big family and need to give Genie security controllers for all the members of the family, Genie garage door opener code setting is needed. Setting code is part of the Genie controller program and it is quiet simple to perform in just a click of a button.

Genie garage door opener code setting just like other security controller setting needs to locate the Learn code button on the power head. Because the location of the learn code buttons may vary depends on the opener models you need to locate the learn code button before performing Genie garage door opener code setting. Some models have the learn code button located on the rear side of the power head while other models have it on the left side of the opener power head.

Once you locate the learn code button, press the button and wait the learn indicator light is blinking for about twice per second as a respond the opener is ready.

Once you finish press the learn code button and within 30 seconds after, press the controller button for once. You will see the learn indicator light on the opener will stop flashing and stay lit.

Once again, press the button on your Genie security controller and the learn indicator light is off as a respond that the memory of the controller is stored in garage door opener memory.

To make sure that the memory of the garage door opener is really storing the garage door opener code, make a small test by pressing the controller button. If you see the door is moving it is set well and if the other way, you need to repeat the process again for each button of Genie controller.
